    Momiji - Japanese Maple

    English Definition:
    Japanese maple

    There are over 100 species of maples, 20 of which are indigenous to Japan. The momiji, also known as "Takao momiji" is widely distributed in the Japanese mountains and often planted in Japanese gardens.

    Note: "Momiji" relates to the craft, Toro, Japanese stone garden lanterns.
